Wintry Mess Moves Out and the Forecast for the Rest of the Week

By · February 17, 2014 at 7:05 pm

The rain, sleet, freezing and snow are moving out of central Indiana.  This slushy mess will re-freeze overnight and there will be some slick roads early Tuesday morning.  Temperatures will be in the 20s to start the day, but get above freezing by late morning.  Highs will be in the 40s for most of the area on Tuesday afternoon.

The melting will begin and last for much of the week.  The melting will increase the low-level moisture and fog will become an issue Tuesday night and Wednesday.  The issue on Thursday will be rain and the threat for storms.  Some of the storms may produce heavy rain and damaging winds.  With the heavy rain potential and the snow melt, flooding will also be a concern this week.  We will keep you updated on this quickly changing weather pattern.  Another change is forecast for the weekend, as highs drop back into the 30s.  A few snow showers are also possible on Saturday.
