It is another cold night across central Indiana, with temperatures already below zero in Kokomo. The coldest air has settled north and east of Indianapolis, so we are forecasting lows -3 to -8 for Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie and Richmond. The low in Indianapolis will be near -2 by early Wednesday morning. Winds are not too much of a factor, but wind chills will still be below zero through Wednesday morning.
The high on Tuesday was only 11 degrees. We will be warmer than that by noon on Wednesday, with a forecas temperature of 16 degrees. Highs will be in the 20s. This is the beginning of a weather pattern change. We finally get out of the deep freeze.
Lots of sunshine is in the forecast for Wednesday. We are tracking a weather system scheduled to arrive later Thursday. This will bring light snow to the area. Right now an inch or less is expected. Another part of this system arrives later Friday, with a better chance for accumulating snow. We will keep you updated on the timing and how much later Friday and early Saturday. It does look like this system will have some warmer air with it and the snow will start to mix with some rain on Saturday, as highs near 40 degrees. The rain will change back to snow Saturday night. Stay tuned for udpates on this weekend weather system and a potentially bigger storm for early next week.
