This morning the winds stayed up enough to fend off a freeze for most areas, but with wake-up temps in the mid 30s combined with the winds, we had wind chills in the 20s this morning!
This afternoon, we’ll warm into the upper 50s (well below the average high of 66) with strong winds out of the northwest gusting 30-40 mph. So it may feel more like upper 40s to low 50s even during the late afternoon.
While we are cool and dry, folks in the Appalachians are dealing with a winter storm! Some areas in the mountains of Western PA had picked up 5″ already earlier this morning. Anywhere from the mountains of West Virginia to Pennsylvania to Western New York State could see accumulating snow with isolated spots in New York that could reach a foot in the highest elevations!
We stay dry until late tomorrow when a few showers are possible. More widespread showers and possible thunderstorms move in Wednesday – timing looks most likely for the afternoon through nighttime hours. We could have an early shower Thursday, then most of the day should be dry. On Friday, we start out cool and dry, but rain moves in late and could linger into Saturday morning. Then Sunday, another disturbance brings a chance of a couple showers/storms. So enjoy today’s cool sunshine (despite the wind) because this may be the most sun we see all week!
Today’s Hoosier Pic at noon is a great shot taken at Saturday’s Race For the Cure of One-Year Cancer Survivor Bev Cross “Reaching for Hope.” She signed her name and in memory of her mother and cousin.
