Warming Up and Tracking Storms

It’s a beautiful and breezy Monday and temperatures have climbed into the low 50s for the 2nd straight day. Our mild air sticks around. In fact, temperatures will be in the 50s again tomorrow and could hit mid 60s to around 70 by Wednesday! Check out this map of forecast highs Wednesday…70 in Bloomington? Possible!

Along with the warmth, we’ve got rain on the way. Plan on rain showers developing late Tomorrow (probably around or after sunset). But the showers become more widespread and heavier as the night wears on. We could have some thunderstorms late Tuesday night through early Wednesday. Here’s what our FutureTrak13 model is projecting for 9am Wednesday:

Some of the storms could turn strong to severe from Indy points south and east mainly from Wednesday morning to midday. I have a hunch most of the rain will end Wednesday morning, but with some instability and lots of warmth we might fire a couple additional storms later in the day. The highest risk of severe will be to our southeast.

We’ll end February (and meteorological winter) on a very warm note! March brings cooler air to start, but we could hit 60 again on Friday. The upcoming weekend brings very small chances of a flurry or two early Saturday, and some scattered snow showers Sunday. Neither chance looks like much.

Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day!
