Tracking Christmas Eve Snow

We’re still focusing on accumulating snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Today will be the best travel day across Central Indiana.  Highs will hit the low 30s with a mix of sun and clouds.  Patchy fog is possible for the morning, with temps below freezing, slick spots will be possible too.

Now, for the snow!  There’s a chance for snow Christmas Eve morning, but it looks like the snow develops for the afternoon into the evening.  We could pick up 1-3″ of snow for Christmas Eve.

Snow showers look to continue until midday Christmas Day, with another 1-2″ of snow possible.  At this time, the heaviest snow and highest snow totals look to be found south of I-70.

This could change as this system continues to evolve, so stay with us for the forecast.  Bottom line, if you’re traveling late Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, you’ll encounter snow and slick spots.

Flurries are likely Sunday with more cold air moving in for next week.

  1. Love the snow at Christmas….but I wish we were in on heavy snow!!! Live in the country, 8-12 inches of snow…warm fireplace, family, snowed in….. that is a great Christmas!!!!
