The very warm, moist air mass will remain in place for the next few days before more storms and cooler temperatures arrive.
We are still tracking our first 90 degree day for 2014. Yesterday, temperatures climbed to 88 degrees. We do have a shot at hitting 90 today but better chances arrive on Monday and Tuesday.
It will be a hot and sultry, partly sunny day with a slight chance of an isolated storm this afternoon through early evening. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 80s with heat indices making it feel like it’s in the low 90s.
It will be partly cloudy and muggy tonight with lows in the low 70s.
The hottest stretch of the summer continues on Monday with mostly sunny skies and highs around 90 degrees. Once again, heat indices will be in the low to mid 90s.
Tuesday will be much of the same with a chance of storms pushing in by late day.
An unsettled pattern returns Wednesday through Friday with daily chances of thunderstorms.
The average high for this time of year is 84 degrees. Temperatures will cool below normal by Friday, only climbing to near 80 degrees.
Right now, next weekend looks cooler and dry.
