Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Thursday

By · February 23, 2012 at 5:16 am

Showers and thunderstorms will move across Central Indiana today.  Some storms could be strong to severe across portions of our state.

Highs will reach the mid 50s.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely.  Some thunderstorms, especially southeast of Indianapolis could be strong to severe.  Damaging wind and large hail along with isolated tornadoes are possible.  The timing of the storms will likely be this afternoon into the evening.

Overnight, winds pick up to gust out of the west up to 30mph.  A mixture of rain and snow is possible as colder air moves in.

A rain/snow mix is possible again on Friday as highs only reach the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.  A light dusting of snow may be possible Friday afternoon.

The weekend starts off cool, but warms up starting Sunday.

Another pattern of wet weather moves in next week.
