Strong to Severe Storms Developing Wednesday

By · August 24, 2011 at 4:42 am

Strong to severe thunderstorms will likely develop as we head late into the afternoon and evening across Central Indiana.

Highs today will reach the low 90s, and as we hit that temp it will be the 37th time this year we’ve hit 90+.  That ties the number of days we hit 90 last year!  Most of the day looks dry, but as we head into the late afternoon and evening strong to severe thunderstorms will likely develop.  Damaging wind and large hail are the biggest threats from storms that turn severe.  You’ll feel more humidity today too, it could feel up to 100 degrees this afternoon.

Overnight, scattered showers and storms will likely continue, again, isolated storms may be severe as temps drop to the mid 60s.

Thursday looks to be a perfect rebound from Wednesday’s heat and humidity.  Highs hit the mid 80s with mostly sunny skies.

Sunshine is expected through Sunday, with our next rain chance moving in Monday.  Comfortable temps are ahead!
