Storms Late Tonight?

By · September 18, 2013 at 10:04 pm

We’re still monitoring an area of strong to severe storms around Chicagoland.  While over a hundred miles away, these storms continue to hold their own on the nose of low level/warm wind field.  There is no immediate impact to the WTHR viewing area, but storms are possible in north-central Indiana after midnight.

Hi-res model data suggests these storms may hold together and dive southeast into central Indiana later tonight/predawn Thursday morning.  Don’t be surprised to hear thunder and have heavy downpours… especially in areas north and northeast of the Indy metro.  This is not a give, but we will monitor the situation all night long.  But I’m not completely ruling out the metro area yet.  Stay tuned.  Below are the latest hi-res FutureTrak13 model images that run from midnight until 8am.
