By · September 26, 2011 at 7:30 am

Record setting rain fell in Indianapolis Sunday… how much did you get in your backyard?

Sunday, the Indy airport recorded 2.17″ of rain, breaking the previous one day total of 2.13 set back in 1961.

Here are a few rainfall totals on the Sunday/early Monday morning rain:

Indianapolis Airport 2.34″

Bloomington:  2.28″

Shelbyville 2.26″

Eagle Creek Indianapolis:  2.07″

Terre Haute:  1.51″

Lafayette:  1.11″

Today will be breezy with a 20% chance of afternoon showers developing.  Winds will gust up to 25mph with highs only reaching the mid 60s.

Overnight, more scattered showers move in, with rain likely after midnight.  Temps drop to the low 50s.

Tuesday, keep the rain gear handy… scattered showers are likely, and highs will only reach the low 60s.

Wednesday, temps go up, and the rain chances go down, but we could still see a few isolated showers as highs hit the upper 60s.

Thursday starts our dry streak… the rest of the 7 day forecast into the weekend looks pretty nice!
