Re-freezing will be an issue tonight and early Tuesday. Despite the cold, there was plenty of sunshine on Monday. This did lead to some melting. Anything that melted will qucikly re-freeze, so watch for slick roads and sidewalks.
Cold describes our weather pattern over the next couple of days, but there is a milder change on the way.
Skies will be partly cloudy overnight with lows near zero. If we get there, it will be a record. The record is 2 set in 1873. From that frigid start, highs will only reach the upper 20s and lower 30s. The average high is now 47 degrees. We will go above average by the end of the week.
It will be a slow temperature climb. Highs will be in the 30s on Wednesday, but 40s are back on Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s on Friday.
Right now the overall weather pattern is quiet. There is a chance for light snow later Wednesday through early Thursday and a chance for rain on Saturday.
