We’ll wake up to temps in the 40s and 50s and warm into the upper 70s tomorrow, then do it all over again on Sunday. It will feel more like September than August with lots of sunshine and comfortable humidity both days, which will mean great weather for the final weekend of the Indiana State Fair, the MotoGP, Motorcycles on Meridian, the Elwood Glass Festival and other weekend events.
The 7-day stays dry with gradually warming temperatures. Our average high is 84.
Some interesting stats courtesy of the National Weather Service. From April 1st through July 31st, we had less than 7″ of rain, which was the driest ever on record for Indianapolis for that period. What a turn-around the last 2 weeks! This month, we’ve had more than 5″ of rain, which is the wettest in 19 years!
What will it take to break the drought? Around 1″ of rain widespread every 10 days through October. At least for now, we’ll be rain-free for at least a week.
Our Hoosier Pic at 6 was from Brad Brown of New Palestine. Cool hummingbird shot!
Finally, our Hoosier Pic at 11 from Courtney Shanks. Her daughter may be a future meteorologist! She’s got her swimsuit on if it’s hot…her snow boots on if it’s not!
Have a great weekend,
