Hot with Isolated Severe Storms Possible This Afternoon

By · July 27, 2012 at 1:13 pm

The Storm Prediction Center expanded the portions of Indiana under a slight risk of severe storms in its midday update. High winds are the greatest threat, but hail and isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out. Isolated storms are possible, so keep an eye to the sky and be ready for quick changes in the weather if one of the storms develops near you. After today’s isolated storms and highs in the mid 90s, we’ll cool down and stay dry for the Nationwide race tomorrow and Brickyard 400 Sunday.

We stay in the 90s through much of your WTHR-TV 7-Day, which will likely ensure we’ll set the record for most 90+ days in July. We tied that mark today with our 25th 90+ day of the month. Our best chance of rain (aside from today) comes on Tuesday.

Finally, our Hoosier Pic at noon courtesy of Jonathan Dehner. He snapped this shot of the stormy skies over The Pyramids yesterday. Share your pic! Right here: https://www.facebook.com/ChikageWindlerFanPage  or here: https://www.facebook.com/WTHR13

Have a great weekend!
