Here Comes The Rain Again

By · April 6, 2014 at 5:41 pm

We’re closing out the weekend in style.  Sunshine and pleasant temperatures in the middle to upper 50s.  Hopefully you had a chance to enjoy the dry time this weekend, with another soaking rain arriving by sunrise Monday.

Though this system won’t deliver three and four inch rain totals… half-inch to near one inch amounts are not welcomed news with many rivers and creeks remaining high.  Rain combined with a brisk northeast wind and highs in the middle 40s makes for an unpleasant day to be outdoors.

DAYPART

Steady rain begins to depart Monday night, and Tuesday should start dry.  But the combination of cold air aloft, an upper level disturbance and surface heating into the middle 50s will aid in the development of scattered storms Tuesday afternoon.  Some of these storms may produce hail, and perhaps nearing severe levels.  Stay tuned for updates on this feature.

Otherwise the focus quickly shifts to the well advertised arrival of the warmest air of the year.  We’re to mostly sunny conditions Wednesday and highs make a run at 60 degrees.

Thursday southwesterly wind strengthens and transports very mild air into central Indiana… with highs possibly climbing into the 70s for the first time since mid-October!

7DAY

An approaching cool front may have just enough moisture to trigger scattered showers late Thursday night into Friday.  At this time confidence is low on this happening, but we’ll monitor for changes.  Mild air looks to hang around into next weekend.  Have a great evening – Sean Ash
