We did it! Thursday Indianapolis hit 100 degrees. That’s the first time since 1988 the century mark has been hit in the Circle City.
Today, will be cooler, but we can’t say the heat wave will be over. Temps only drop to the mid to upper 90s today, and it will feel like 110 with the humidity. The entire state is still under an Excessive Heat Warning until 8pm Saturday. There’s a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms the later we head into the day and evening. Some storms may be strong to severe with damaging wind the biggest threat.
Overnight, temps drop to the upper 70s, but it will feel closer to 90.
Saturday, we hit the mid 90s again, and it will feel well over 100 degrees. There’s a 30% chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms. Remember, the Excessive Heat Warning ends at 8pm Saturday night.
Sunday, another shot at showers and storms with highs in the mid 90s. Sunday into Monday will be our best chance for rain as a cold front moves towards the state.
“Relief” from the heat comes Monday and Tuesday, but we quickly climb back into the 90s at the end of next week. We will have to wait to see if the humidity sticks around too.
