Dry Stretch Underway, Plus a Warm-up Coming

Today’s average high is 64. We’ll be seasonable with highs in the mid 60s across Central Indiana. Indy should land right around 66. The big change: the wind! Yesterday’s peak wind gust was 45 mph. Today, winds are light out of the northwest.

Depending on where you are, it’s either sunny, cloudy, or a mix of both. Today Northern Indiana is basking in sunshine while the southern half of the state is stuck in the clouds. Here in Indy, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds…it’s still a nice day to be outside!

If you’re heading to the Indians game tonight, plan on a seasonable evening with 62 at first pitch.

Tomorrow, we’re in for mostly sunny skies and unseasonable warmth as highs soar into the low 70s. It will be the pick of the week for any outdoor plans…including the midday game at Victory Field!

I’ve warmed up and dried out Thursday’s forecast as it now looks like any rain will be relegated to far Northern Indiana. Central Indiana should stay dry. That changes Friday when a cold front and accompanying area of low pressure push through bringing us showers and t-storms. Unfortunately, that system now looks a little slower…which means the rain could linger into Saturday morning’s Komen Race for the Cure. For now, be ready for a cool, damp start at Military Park Saturday morning. Highs this weekend may only manage 50s….but Sunday at least looks dry. There’s even a chance for patchy frost Sunday and Monday mornings!

Finally, check out today’s Hoosier Pic at Noon! A gorgeous sunset captured last night by Abra Brant-Myers. Want your pic featured? Post onĀ https://www.facebook.com/WTHR13 or email your pic to pix@wthr.com.
