Cold Air Returns with Snow Chances

By · January 18, 2012 at 5:53 am

Cold air has settled back into the forecast, and our chances for snow are going up too!

You may see some morning flurries today, but then mostly sunny skies are expected with temps reaching the low 30s.

Tonight, clouds increase and flurries are possible as temps drop to the upper 20s with wind gusts out of the south up to 25mph.

Thursday, light snow is likely.  As of right now, the timing of the snow looks to impact the morning commute.  So, plan on slick conditions through the early afternoon.  By Thursday afternoon, most spots will see up to 1″ of snow, but some areas especially north of I-70 could pick up up to 2″ of snow.

Friday looks mainly dry with a slight chance of snow, but another chance of light snow moves in Friday night into Saturday morning.  Again, we could see enough snow to make roads slick.  Some rain could mix in with the snowflakes, so we’ll be watching this closely too.

Temps warm up for the weekend, with another good chance for rain moving in early next week.
