Big Changes Are Coming
ByToday will be our was our 26th day of 90+ degree heat. Last year we had 37! While we’re looking for more 90s today, but something is changing in the forecast, a decent chance for rain!
The low 90s are in the forecast with mainly dry conditions today. There’s a chance of an isolated storm in south central Indiana.
Right now we are in the longest dry spell in 104 years. From June 1 to July 11, only .09″ of rain has fallen in Indy. The National Weather Service has crunched all the numbers, click here for a great overview of just how dry it is.
Tonight skies will be partly cloudy with temps around 70.
Friday, scattered showers and storms will develop in Central Indiana. We have a daily chance of rain through next Tuesday. Friday through Sunday we could see isolated severe storms, as temps cool into the 90s! Up to an inch of rain is possible.
We need at least six inches of rain to help with the drought. As of right now Indianapolis is running more than 8 inches below normal when it comes to rain.
That said, any rain is good rain and we’ll take all we can get!
