This morning’s rain is over. Many areas picked up between 1/4 to 1/2″ of rain. Officially at Indianapolis International Airport, we got .44″ of rain. Here are some rain totals from our SkyTrak13 WeatherBug Network:
Now we’re dealing with strong gusty winds. A WIND ADVISORY continues until 6pm with gusts out of the southwest/west up to 45 mph possible. At 11am, Indy recorded a gust of 40 mph, Muncie a gust of 45 mph.
You’ll notice it’s a cooler day out there as well. Yesterday’s high hit 78. Today, the high will technically go down as 72 degrees just past midnight. But this afternoon most areas will be in the mid to upper 60s for highs. The average high is 63.
Tonight, the Indians game may start out windy, but after sunset our winds should diminish quickly and turn light overnight. If you’re heading to the game, you’ll want a coat as temps will be falling into the 50s.
The week ahead features a nice warm-up midweek with our next chance of rain arriving Thursday. For most of us, the rain won’t move in until late Thursday night, but there’s a weak disturbance that could sweep in a few early morning showers to the far northern tier of the state Thursday morning. Friday looks like our wettest day of the week with showers and thunderstorms likely. It looks like the rain will be over by the time walkers head to Military Park Saturday morning for the Komen Race for the Cure. It will be a cool start, though, with Saturday morning lows around 40 degrees and a high of only 55. Sunday could bring a chance of frost across parts of Central Indiana!
And finally, our Hoosier Pic today at noon! LOVE this pic taken by Jolynn Bales of her daughter Terry enjoying a windy and wild boat ride on Morse Lake yesterday. IF you have a pic you’d like to share with us, it’s easy. Just post to our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WTHR13 or email your pic to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a great Monday!
