Get ready for the heat. Highs will reach the low 90s today, but feel more like 95 to 100 because of the humidity. There’s a 20% chance of an afternoon storm, but our risk for severe weather goes up into tonight.
The area north of Indianapolis is under a moderate risk for severe storms. That basically means an enhanced chance. South of Indy, a slight risk for severe storms. Our top concerns are damaging winds and flooding. An isolated tornado and large hail cannot be ruled out. Up to two inches of rain in a short amount of time is possible, that’s why flooding is a threat. Be weather aware as we head into the afternoon. The best timing for storms appears to be after 7pm until 4am. As the storms develop into the afternoon we’ll keep you posted on the timing.
The showers and storms end early Thursday morning, and much drier cooler air moves in. Temps will be comfortable Thursday with afternoon highs in the upper 70s. Our next chance for rain moves in late Saturday with an isolated storm chance. Sunday and Monday, scattered showers and storms will be likely.
