11am Snow Update

Snow showers have now moved into the metro, and will stick around for quite some time.

Snow is now falling in Indianapolis.  The systems has been moving in from our Western counties since about 8am.  Crawfordsville, Lafayette, saw snow showers earlier this morning.

All of Central Indiana should see snow today, and some spots could pick up, up to 3 inches.  It looks like some of the heavier bands will be here in the early afternoon.  A few spots may pick up a little more than 3 inches.  If you’re traveling to or from Central Indiana today, be prepared for slick spots on the roadways, and reduced visibility.  A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect for Central Indiana at noon today, and expires at 1am Monday morning.

The snow showers should be winding down and shutting off by 10pm or 11pm with scattered flurries flying about.  The Winter Weather Advisory will continue until 1am to account for the possibility of blowing snow.

Monday, scattered flurries with now accumulation are expected.  Highs will only reach the upper 20s, but with winds gusting up to 25mph it will only feel like the teens.  Blowing snow is going to be possible too, based on how much we see today.
