HERE COMES THE HEAT

Sunny & Warm Sunday – then Hot & Humid

Today we can expect another beautiful day of sunshine and warm temperatures, afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90.

Heat and humidity climb beginning Monday as a ridge of high pressure parks over the region this week. SouthWest breezes will rotate hot & humid air up from the gulf resulting in heat indices (feels like temperatures) of upper 90s Monday and Tuesday, near 100 Wednesday.

The only chance of showers is Wednesday and it’s a slim one.  Many forecast models are still not agreeing that the weak front will move in.  It would bring a bit of relief by pulling slightly cooler and drier air from the NorthWest.

High pressure is the dominant weather maker this weekend providing  Sunny Skies and warm afternoons with high temperatures reaching the mid 80s to near 90 degrees.

Prepare for dangerously high heat at times in the week ahead.   As high pressure strengthens, it pumps our temperatures into the 90s..nearly 10 degrees above normal.  Our normal temp for late August (according to a 30 year average) is 84 degrees.  The feels like temperature will be upper 90s to low 100 Monday through Wednesday.  Sunny and dry conditions with light winds will offer little relief.3 today7 day

COMFY TO STICKY

You’ll appreciate Sunglasses & Air Conditioning This Week

afternoon

High pressure building from the north will provide dry and warming weather today through Thursday.  The fly in the ointment is that weak but persistent disturbance spreading showers across the Hoosier State’s southern border.  A slim chance of a light shower or isolated storm is possible across southern portions of the state today as that system finally exits east.

Prepare for hot & humid conditions with temperatures reaching near 90 Wed & Thu.  A weak cold front will bring a chance of showers Friday.  Sunny weather rebounds for the coming weekend.

Another Pleasant Weekend, then back into the frying pan…

High pressure to the north will provide a dry Saturday with temperatures warming near 80. Tomorrow, a weak disturbance will brush southern Indiana with a slim chance of showers, the rest of us can enjoy dry and sunny Sunday with highs warming closer to summertime norms in the low 80s.

The warming trend continues through the work week.  A return to humid conditions will make air temperatures in the upper 80s seem even hotter. The next mention of showers waits until Friday.

Plan on a mostly sunny weekend with highs in the 80s.

3 pan today7 day aug

Plan on a mostly sunny weekend with highs in the 80s.

Yesterday’s front has drifted south to the Ohio river, taking showers with it.  Another, weaker front will drift southward across the region today bringing a few sprinkles. Starting tonight, a protective ridge of high pressure builds in to provide sunny/dry weather for the remainder of our weekend.

The short lived high pressure exits east Sunday night allowing Friday’s moisture to spread back into the region and combine with a cold front from the NorthWest to create scattered showers across central Indiana Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

This stronger front will pull cooler/drier air over the Hoosier state for the remainder of the work week.
