Warmest day so far!

Posted By · May 15, 2013 at 5:56 pm

7daymay15Wednesday’s record high is 88 set back in 2001, and we made it to 85 – making it the warmest day of 2013. Now, more rain is heading our way. We’ll have a daily chance for scattered strong thunderstorms for the next seven days.

Under some of the heavier storms up to an inch of rain will fall. However, we will have enough dry weather for qualifications this weekend at the Speedway.

Rainy and cool

Posted By · May 10, 2013 at 3:42 pm

7daymay10Since January 1st Indianapolis precipitation stands six inches above average. We’ll have scattered showers late today and less than a quarter inch of rain is likely.

A cold front moving this way will bring the rain and also push our Sunday temperatures into the 50s. The coldest air settles in Monday morning when lows will be in the 30s and scattered light frost is possible.

Expect a quick warm-up next week with highs near 80 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain chances continue

Posted By · May 6, 2013 at 5:18 pm

7daymay6We’ve had so much rain this spring that our water table has recovered from last year’s drought. Unfortunately the rain had been so consistent that many farmers have not been able to start planting. That will continue this week as we have a daily chance for rain through Saturday. Our greatest risk for strong storms will come as a cold front approaches Friday and Saturday.

This week we will have a daily chance for rain through Saturday. Tuesday will be the driest day so get your lawn mowed!

Forecast improving for Mini Marathon

Posted By · May 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm

miniforecastThe weather looks much better for the Mini. We’ll have clouds and maybe a few sprinkles at the most.

Our computer models are pushing our low pressure area south so the heaviest rain will stay south of us. Right now the weekend looks more dry than wet. We’ll have a few showers but no major thunderstorms or severe weather.

Cool down this weekend

Posted By · May 2, 2013 at 10:31 pm

We’ll have one more day in the mid-70s before a cool down this weekend. We’ll have a daily chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms through Monday. Our current computer models are pushing our low pressure area father south this weekend.

If that track continues, we’ll have mainly dry conditions this weekend with just a few showers. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
