Much cooler air is settling into Central Indiana for the weekend.  Scattered sprinkles are possible today, but the big story will be those wind gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight, temps drop to the upper 30s.  Winds will continue to gust up to 25mph.

Saturday begins our streak of dry weather… but highs will only reach the upper 50s… and the wind gusts up to 25mph are likely.

Sunday, the wind dies down and temps warm into the mid 60s.

By next week, we’re back in the 70s, and we look to stay dry through Friday.

Strong to Severe Storms Possible Today

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and into the evening across Central Indiana.

Patchy fog and drizzle is possible this morning across Central Indiana, with a mix of sun and clouds developing by mid morning.   

 

 

Highs will reach the mid 70s today with winds gusting up to 35mph.  A potent cold front is set to cross the state later today, and strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and into the evening across Central Indiana.  The biggest threat from any storm that turns severe will be strong damaging wind, however, an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.  The most likely timing for storms will be from 3pm to 8pm.  Check out the severe outlook map to see what areas of Central Indiana are under the gun for severe storms.  Yellow means a slight risk for severe storms, green means thunderstorms are possible.

Overnight, an isolated shower is possible as temps drop to the upper 40s.

Friday looks very cool with highs only warming into the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.  Wind gusts up to 35mph will make it feel much cooler.  An isolated shower is still possible.

The weekend is cool… but nice and dry!  Temps Saturday and Sunday morning may drop into the 30s outside the metro… so prepare for a cool start!

Wednesday, temps go up, and the rain chances go down, but we could still see a few isolated showers as highs hit the upper 60s.

Today highs will reach the mid 60s, but the weather story is about the rain.  Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible at any time today, but the heaviest rain looks to arrive late this afternoon into tonight.  One to two inches of rain is expected today and tonight, with some isolated areas picking up, up to three inches of rain.

Overnight, the heavy rain comes to an end, and temps drop to the mid 50s.

Monday, scattered showers are possible early, then we will see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid to upper 60s.  Monday evening more showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop.  We could pick up an additional .30″ of rain.

Rain sticks in the forecast through Wednesday, then we dry out as temps approach the 70s again!

Highs today will reach the mid 60s with a mix of sun and clouds, and the chance of a shower at any time today.  An isolated thunderstorm is possible too, severe thunderstorms are not expected.  Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible today.

Scattered light showers are still possible tonight as lows drop to the low 50s.

Sunday, heavy rain looks likely across the state.  Some spots could pick up, an inch of rain, and a few isolated neighborhoods could pick up more!  Scattered showers and isolated t-storms are likely at any time Sunday, but the heaviest rain looks to come late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.  If you’re tailgating for the Colts game, have your rain gear ready!  Temps will only reach the mid to upper 60s.

Monday and Tuesday, off and on light showers are possible, with less than a quarter of an inch of rain expected.

Wednesday, the warm up begins, and we could hit close to 80 late next week!

Highs will hit the mid to upper 60s across Central Indiana today with a mix of sun and clouds.  There’s a 20% chance for an isolated shower, but, most spots should remain dry.  If you’re heading out for Operation Football, it will be cool, with temps in the 50s and a chance for a spotty shower.

Overnight, lows drop to the 40s, and a slight chance of rain sticks around.

Saturday and Sunday scattered showers are possible with highs in the mid 60s.  If you’re tailgating before the colts game, be prepared with the rain gear!
